We Can Be Brave
We can be brave and help save our democracy!
Giving up is NOT an option if we care about the state of our democracy!
We can be people who get off the couch to protect our democracy!
We can attend the upcoming No Kings Day 3 on Saturday, March 28. The goal is for this event to be the largest protest in American history.
At the recent memorial to Jesse Jackson, former President Obama recalled how Jackson paved the way for people like him by promising everyone “that they mattered, that their voices and their votes counted. He invited them to believe. He invited us to believe in our own power to change America for the better.”
Obama said that Jackson’s life “inspires us to take a harder path. His voice calls on each of us to be heralds of change, to be messengers of hope….Wherever we have a chance to make an impact, whether it’s in our school or our workplaces or our neighborhoods or our cities, not for fame, not for glory, or because success is guaranteed, but because it gives our lives purpose, because it aligns with what our faith tells us God demands, and because if we don’t step up, no one else will.”
No one person can do it all! But we can each do one thing! We can refuse to stand idly by and proclaim NO KINGS as those who came before us did in 1776!
